“Every Breath You Take” Playlist – Track No. 8

Track #8 from the “Every Breath You Take” playlist is “I Like It” by DeBarge.

 

I was a big fan of DeBarge back in the day. From the bouncy and playful, “Rhythm of the Night” (remember that one?) to the plaintive musings of “Who’s Holding Donna Now,” DeBarge could do no wrong.

 

But “I Like It” has always been my favorite. The sweet, sexy lyrics over the simple, hypnotic groove, the Earth-defying falsettos of El and Randy DeBarge (co-lead singers on the song) made this one an instant classic.  

 

“I Like It,” is a favorite song of one of the main characters in “Every Breath You Take,” and the tune will have special significance for main character, Natalie as the story progresses.
